Back in 2012 I told myself that I'd write a guide on trancing, which can get you in a certain mindset similar to when doing focused meditation.

You wouldn't be focusing on your tulpa as you would be when meditating, correct? It's more a conscious activity to force, and using the meditation technique during your forcing?

Well, I basically only "enact" the meditation method when tulpaforcing when I catch myself off-focus.

So, say I'm tulpaforcing, as normal, then <intrusive thought / mind wondering / etc etc>; once I catch that, I basically use the same methods I use when doing mindfulness, to observe the intrusive thought as an object of consciousness, then without thinking of it further, I have it float away (my own personal way of dismissing a thought) and gently guiding my attention back to tulpaforcing.

Then I'm back to tulpaforcing (rather than meditating)

It all just takes a moment, and I found it easier to keep things from going nuts sometimes.

That makes sense to me. I wasn't quite sure if you were maybe forcing in a very different sort of way to be using meditation techniques during it. As is, that sounds like a more "concrete" application of meditation than I've commonly seen when it comes to mixing it with tulpamancy.

There was actually someone here a few weeks (days?) ago who was saying that they were going to force purely through focusing on their tulpa and nothing else. (edited)

@Reguile no guide, but there was a book apparently? I’ve not read it. Allione, Tsultrim, Feeding Your Demons: Ancient Wisdom for Resolving Inner Conflict (New York: Little, Brown and Company; 11 October 2008).

My family uses meditation, introspection and self-hypnosis for tulpa making. It’s loosely based on the method published by UCLA in the 70’s

Not entirely trial-and-error, but close to that. It’s been a step-wise refinement process by experiment

Theres a few apps with guided sessions for free. Waking up with Sam Harris and Headspace are 2.

There's a lot of ways to meditate, it's not just one thing people instinctually know how to do. At the very least read something explaining the technique and goals. (edited)

I'd recommend using "meditation" for 'mancy only if you already know how to meditate properly.
